Honda Civic console trim, re-made in white
Factory black centre console trim from a 10th-generation Honda Civic, 3D scanned and printed in white for a custom interior.

The challenge
The owner of a 10th-generation Honda Civic wanted white centre console trim in place of the factory black parts. The trim pieces are long, curved panels with clips and locating pins on the back, and they have to sit flush against the console, the shifter surround and the dash. Rather than modelling the parts by hand, we used the original trim as the reference for the new pieces.
Our process
- Removed the original black trim from the car.
- 3D scanned it on a turntable with scan markers.
- Built a CAD model from the scan, keeping the clips and locating pins.
- Printed the trim in white, standing upright on supports.
- Compared the print with the original, then made a second console panel the same way.
- Fitted the new parts in the car.
The result
The new white trim clips into the original mounting points and sits flush around the shifter and along the console. With the matching side panel, it changes the look of the interior while keeping the factory fit and function. The parts are printed straight from scan data, so the same pieces can be made again if one is ever damaged.
